Briannon Wilfong

Hello!

I am a graduate from the University of Arizona. I graduated magna cum laude and received my Bachelor's degree in journalism with a double minor in marketing through the Eller College of Management and Africana Studies, with an emphasis in hip-hop cultures. I worked for the Daily Wildcat, a student-run newspaper at the UA. At the Wildcat, I wrote on the Arts & Life desk, writing profiles, event coverage, features, and I have done opinion stories as well. I have also worked as an intern for Tucson Weekly in the spring semester of 2019, writing daily blogs for both their music section and a section for events happening around Tucson. I produced a story a week, mostly writing profiles and event previews, as well as features for Tucson Weekly. These stories have been published online as well as in print, some stories running in as many as three newspapers at a time. Lastly, I apprenticed at the Arizona Daily Star, working on the features desk Caliente, writing event previews and working on longer-length feature stories, my stories running online as well as one making front page of Caliente. I am seeking career opportunities in the music journalism field and am excited to work for a publication one day!
